Default Need some help with VZ

Hey guys, just brought my first car.
Got myself VZ V6 Executive '06 model, had 40,000 on the clock.

Anyway I got a few things I wouldnt mind some answers for.
What can I do to the car to add some more power, keep in mind I need to keep it P-Plate legal.
Also any suggestions, can you guys include the price of the mod.

Also I wanted to get an exhaust for it, I was just gonna get the Lukey Muffler without all the pipes, would the box still give me a good sound?

2 hole mod - some people say it does nothing some say it does - cost is nothing

k&n air filter - around the 90 to 100bux mark

not much more other than the exhaust that i can think of that will give you more power, but then the exhaust wont give you much power to start with.

    1. 2 Hole Mod - Worked for me give louder induction roar makes car sound less like a vacumn cleaner lol

    2. K & N Panel Filter

    3. Cat back exhaust dont just go wit the muffler i put hot dog on mine instead of rear muffler and well... sounds like shit.

    4. Tune - power chip do a tune for around $900 i think (someone else might no more)

If you get a tune get your exhaust and everything done first so they can get the most out of your car for you.

    Hope helps a bit man

You can't get a musg of a power increase out of an Alloytec without going forced induction, which is obviously out for you at this stage. Save your money until you can get an 8.

Wise words from Troy. Not everyone wants a V8, but for the people who want to SENSIBLY go about obtaining more power, eventually look for an 8 anyway. Unless they just want to bang their head against the wall and buck the trend (which isn't always a bad thing...).

I heard of one of my mates I can put an SS exhaust system on it and it will give me a nice sound.
    Anyone able to confirm that?

Oh and whats the go with a cold air intake?
    Will that help at all?

y not over 200kw? KW per tonne law? i got the same car as u and liven in Qld aswell, not fully sure of the laws, and yeah the powerchip is supposed to increase the engine to 201kw at best, but these can vary, and NM to just under 360 i believe

lol yea that new P plater rule is BS just throw in a filter and save up for a full exhaust. Cat back is a waste of time. then when your off your p's you'll probs want a new car any way i'm only 23 and am on my 4th car and i spent the most of the last 2 years overseas and stuff

but how are they to know that you've gone over, its not like they can pop your bonnet and say your car has been tuned.

the laws im under say nothing over 200KW. They cant tell by just looking at it, but they can tell me to take it to the pits for an inspection, and i would get royaly screwed, even worse being on a good behaviour lisence.

im guessing if they were suss enough to send me there, they would. Im sure they would have something setup to do this with the introduction of these new laws.

Unless your unlucky enough to get a random on the spot road check you should be fine!

they cant really tell if its been tuned unless they actually drive it or dyno it as you say....and if they do go that far and have the technology to actually check it on the spot then they must of seriously got out of the wrong side of the bed to be that much of a prick! haha.

but other than that its simple...dont get caught being a idiot. The guys that actually do get caught are the guys that cause attention to themselfs. doing all the burnouts, wreckless driving, revving engines at traffic lights and all the 'hooning' as they like to call it (which doesnt take much according to them) lol.

when i was on p's i had the vl with the loudest souding exhaust with the massive wheels and no cop hassled me once in the three years as when i saw them i just drove normally and kept revs low. haha.

if you do get the urge like many of us do just keep a watchfull eye cause any one them could one of those undercover cars. lol.

    keeping on topic...

-full exhaust or cat back should be fine if you dont want to worry much about the performance side of things.

-2 hole mod with MCAI or
HSV lower air box which the 2 hole thing is pretty much done for you already. ( it has the larger 120mm duct than the other hole)

    -K&N panel filter

    - VCM Suite Tune.

    you wont look back
