Heyas.
Well a mate left his VZ S pack ute parked at my house last night, a very quiet neighbourhood, up a long driveway about 20 meters, and parked with 2 other cars.
Come morning, his GPS is gone off the dashboard, the car searched and messed up. Though, no broken window, signs of forced entry, but the car was DEFINATLY locked, as I heard myself when he unlocked it in the morning.
Any idea how the hell this has happened? We've ruled out someone 'taking the piss' or it being misplaced.
yeah theres a few tools out there u can use to unlock cars, my old man knows how to unlock our AU, slides down some tool down the window inside the lining down the door (from the outside obviously) and can unlock it, i think its pretty simple, check the door/s window trim see if its a bit loose or what not
a s pack should have an alarm too shouldnt it?

Are you 100% sure it's not possible someone with access to the keys has pulled a shifty?
Does it have the deadlock option? if it doesnt mybe someone was near him when he used his remote ,and had a learning remote that records and duplicates the code, but if the car was deadlocked the remote is usless without deactivating the deadlock mode with the key first
No deadlock is only deactivated by key the remote wont work until the key lock is turned from the horizontal position to the verticle position, and you cant open the doors from the inside, that way a thief cant smash the window and open the doors , but you my be able still turn the alarm off with the remote while its still active this so you can get into the boot and turn off any false alarms
Nope, from VT S2-onwards the deadlock can be applied and deactivated by the remote (VT S1 could be turned off with the remote, but not applied).
The door locks are always vertical, regardless of the state of the lock.
Holden VT Commodore / CalaisVT Series II: All models now offer the added security of remote central deadlocking (formerly required the key to be turned in the door lock) now easily activated by pressing the Priority Key twice. Turn signal indicators illuminate for 3 seconds to indicate that the car is in a deadlocked state. An electric boot release disable function is now standard, when the Priority Key is used to lock or deadlock, the in-car boot release button is automatically disabled.
i think he is referring to pre vt commos to deadlock the car you had to use the key and turn it to a horizontal position then remove the key.
Chev badges are an instant fail
I work for RACV and vt to vz are the same to get in to very easy ( some will take 30 seconds some will take a couple of go's ) and if the car is deadlocked this still works and will not set the alarm off sounds like it was someone that new what they were doing there are a few ways to get in to them but being a ute there is only two was and they way they may have done it was REMOVED

I didnt know that holden got rid of the deadlock option after the vs,
theres A lot of people who have this option dont even know about it, but as Vq rat said REMOVED, remember seeing it in my VP when I had to tighten up my door handle after some prick tried to brake into it by prying it ,but come to think of it they might have been trying to get to the switch

wtf is the deadlock? haha.
They didn't get rid of it, they just updated it so you can activate/deactivate it with the remote. You can still do it manually with the key if you want to.
Deadlock means you can't lift up the door locks to unlock them, you either have to turn the key in the drivers door, or use the remote to unlock it. The idea is to stop people smashing the windows and opening the door, and I think it's harder to coathanger the locks etc.
ahh ok thanks.
