about the Commodores and Luminas..
Whoa wtf with the caps/centering/bold.
Prolly your best option for more power (on the cheap'ish side of things) would be to go for a VCM suite tune and an exhaust upgrade (exhaust upgrade before the VCM suite tune). Wouldn't worry about CAM(s) as there are 4(?) to change and from what I have heard it's around $3k for a full set of CAM's. Though I have heard of some good power increases from this. I have mentioned before in another thread that the 190kw alloytech motor after a VCM tune, can make as much as 210-220rwhp (anywhere between 20-30rwhp increase).

aaah hehe ok. You can get bigger exhaust and still have it quiet. Hope KFC comes to the party on this one... but as I understand it something like extractors, high flow cats, cat back exhaust and helps it breathe nicely, but then having good mufflers will limit the sound coming so as not to be too loud or drone too much. (Can anyone validate this? heh)

Though I did hear of a guy running 13.5-14's with cams?

Thanks man, was waiting for someone to confirm heh. But yeah, no slips, but from what I remember reading was simple mods like zorst cai and then the CAM's added

Performance Manifolds can supply cams for 3.6l ALLOYTEC V6 for about $2500.Labour for this job may take 10hrs to fit 4 cams and from there advise , buy a CPR6 and get tuned up with a 7500rpm limit for $3000 will be the best daily driven combo.
Cams do make gains but the engine is still restricted on a std inlet manifold.
The CPR6 Vz ute has a slip for a 13.97@106 not bad for 1800kg manual,I'll get it up hear soon.
Cheers
waiting for anyy new info's

Get a tune after the CPR6 is fitted or you will have to spend another $900 to get the complete 40-45rwhp gains that the CPR6 & TUNE have to offer. In Brisbane only $3000 will get Cpr6 & tune drive in & drive out same day.
If you live anywhere else you will have to wait untill your local HP TUNER gets on the waggon and want's to Fit CPR6s and make 40kw in 4hrs. It's easy just call Performance Manifolds.
Thats funny the VE ute in motor mag is 1710kg and the vz only 100kg lighter so if i got a 100kg fat arse in a vz and 50lt fuel that is 40kg short of 1800kg, close for me.
lol i thought u meant just the ute by itself. By themselves they weigh around 1650
