For starters the other day i realised that my low beams don't work. Not strange you say, well i checked the fuses and the low beam relay to no avail. Yeah it's probably the bulbs, surprising if they both blew at once but hey, possible i didn't notice the first one blown. More to the point when i get in my car odd things have happened, the first time my air con was turned up to maximum heat, (not good on a hot day), a few days later the air con was up and the music at full volume and then today the drivers seat was fully reclined and all the way back. Is this VZ electronics going haywire or is my car haunted. By the way the car is locked and the keys on my possession all day.

check your battery leads , id say ine earth or lead is disconnected/broken or alternator.
SIR LS1
the two ton go kart
They Calais have a memory key and it saves your last know setting for, stereo volumes and presets, where your chair was at, aircon settings and trip computer options.
So unless someone has your key then (not the spare as it will have different settings) then they can change all the settings but if you have it with you then I would say there is an error with the memory system, try using your spare key and see if that makes a difference.
haunted lol
the calais also has buttons on the side of the seat for memory so you may have knocked one of them as your getting out.
Chev badges are an instant fail
as an update yesterday i got the loud music and heat, today the works, music, heat and fully reclined seat. Do these systems share a common earth somewhere? Battery seems fine, what would the alternator have to do with it? the seat is reclined before i unlock so shouldn't be the memory in the key.

ok guys, (and dolls). I checked the fuse for the interior lights and it had blown. Two more blew instantly when lights activated. (sat in car locked and after a while unlocked the doors thus activating the lights.) any ideas on what the problem could be? no I'm not going to put a bigger fuse in, maybe.

get it to an auto elec, sound like you have a serious wiring short somewhere, the car dosnt leak water by anychance,
a 4x4 hilux at work, always used to have a ghost in it, lights would randomly turn on at night and flatten the batter, horn would switch off, engine wouldnt switch off on occasions,
i bought it one day to have a crack at it, it was lucky that on the weekend we had large downfalls of rain, there was a pool of water on the floor, after ripping the interior apart, i worked out the windscreen seal was leaking and the water was running down the main wiring harness straight into the fuse box haha,
pulled the fuse box out, turned it upside down and a heap of water came out, new windscreen seal, and new fuse box, has never had a problem again
hasnt really got anything to do with your problem, but it seemed like an allright story
