im researching it at the moment with the factory holden service manual. at the present, the speed sensor has a different connector, there appears to be a plug that fits over the tcm module connector to keep continuity in the wiring for other modules that use that system,

    at the moment,

will need to change some wiring
will need to have computer re-programmed with a tech2 to change transmission

i need to work out atm how much of the dash wiring accommodates the clutch switch and clutch position switch, i know there is one of the connectors there atm.

if anyone with a manual transmission could do me a favor, and pop the passenger side footwell cover out and see if there is a plug similar to the one used on the ecm on the front of the motor with a cap fitted to the plug?

    cheers

ok i found the wiring harness i was looking for, looks to be a pretty straight forward swap, the difference is the manual harness only supports the speed sensor, reverse switch and oxy sensor if a 190kw or my06, it has one plug that plugs to the engine harness at the back of the motor, and another plug that goes through into the dash and plugs in, the auto harness has an extra plug that connects to the tcm module, which will be removed,

wether all this is plug and play i dont know, but it shouldnt be far off, the only thing that i think may give trouble is the speed sensor wiring, i thing auto is 2 wire and manual is 3 wire

theres a pic of the harnesses, auto first, manual second

i can understand for a wagon because from my understanding they didn't come in any spec with manual, but with a exec sedan probably cheaper to runout and buy a sv6 with the 190kw motor and 6 speed?
    you'd think anyway
