    Default VZ vs VE

Does anyone know what would be quicker down the line out of a VZ SV6 or a VE SV6 ute? VZ is the upgraded model, so i believe has the LSD. Do the new utes have the LSD? keep in mind this is a brand new ute, so would be the latest series or what ever.

Have these two been tried against each other that you know of, or anyone got a guess? The VE has an extra 5KW, but it weighs i think an extra 150kg.(weight difference taken from an online review)

Will see what happens when mate gets his ute for sure though...

VE, the power and torque is much more useable in the VE alloytech than the VZ. Max ratings only tell part of the story, but VE has max torque at just 2600rpm so gets going pretty quick, VZ is 3200rpm. The VZ really requires more revving than the VE to acheive the same result.

I'd imagine the ute would have an LSD, to the best of my knowledge all Holden utes are fitted with them standard.

Only 5Kw extra with 150kgs more to cart, power-to-weight obviously inferior to the VZ, but as mentioned, power and torque delivery could be the key there. Also, are they both manual, both auto, or one of each? Ute could have trouble with traction if it's hammered straight off too.

I'd say if one was manual and one auto, the manual would win if the driver knew what he was doing. If they were both the auto or manual and driven similar i'd say the VZ, is a lighter car.

i know for a fact a ve ute will smash a vz ute, i dead set reckon a base model ve manual ute (which has the sv6 drivetrain in it) will flog and n/a commodore six, it hammers,

ive been in a mates base ute and that thing just power skidding, no brakes, will spin through to the end of 3rd gear on the stock turanza tyres without hesitation,

power wise the ve tune is alot more aggressive than the overprotecting vz tune

In terms of VE SV6 ute vs VZ SV6 sedan, mate of mine has a VE SV6 auto ute (thing is a bloody monster truck, mine is factory height same as his, and sitting next to him I have to look up at him in his car next to me... beside the point) I know for a fact that the SV6 VZ sedan is faster than VE SV6 auto ute in a straight line (couple of standing start highway drags to 100 sorted this out). But in terms of the manual, yes, I would have no doubt whatsoever that the manual would kill a VZ SV6 auto. But, get VCM tune on the VZ and game over for any VE 6. End of story.
