Mate have a VZ SV6 auto and cant seem to get it to skid at all, whats the problem? Have tried it in A/s without traction control and still nothing. Its a Dec '05 model so is fitted with an LSD.
It struggles to even spin the wheels, forget making smoke.
WHATS THE PROBLEM.
not sure mate i just bought a o6 model and it has no probs doing it.I was actually suprised how easy it did it
The problem with the VZ alloytech's is that they have nifty ECU programming with Torque Management. Basically it does not allow full torque to be utilized until the revs hit about 3k rpm. If you put it in neutral and stomp on the GO pedal, you'll notice it only rev's to 2,5k RPM's , same if you have your foot on brake and in D or 1st, same thing. The only way to remove this is to get a VCM suite tune. This removes the torque markers allowing all torque to be utilized at lower rev's and also increases rwhp by anywhere between 20-30rwhp depending on your model of car. Hope that helps some![]()
Me? I'm the guy who does his job ... you must be the other guy ...
try getting to spin when on full lock without brakes (doin a donut) and when you get enough rpm the slowly press the brakes (smoke heaven)![]()
this is why people get pissed off with crewmans aswell

Yeah, SV6's do nuts quite happily. Just yeah, without the torque management removed they don't just smoke up on the spot (unless its wet or you have oil on the floor or both...? nah) But yeah, what rooster said, loop it.

correction the auto sv6 doesn't smoke on the spot. my 6 speed dial up 6000rpm let the clutch up pulls about 3 car lenghts of 2 thick black lines. but yeah cause mine isn't tuned if i just take off normally then suddenly floor it will just chirp the rears then get going bloody throttle management.
haha, yeah, it can be done with ease in the manuals, but from what I gather, the original post was concering the A5

Also, why the **** does your friend wanna do skids anyway? Showing off? I hope he manages to nail one in his hectic V6 then a copper reams his ass for it.
*EDITED* chuck stockies on the back and it will rip up like no tomoro, 205 wide.

VT manual take off
what about you speeding down the street? much more dangerous.. what if a little kid ran on the road?
Can i please buy the rights to the technology you used to determine that i was speeding, as this will make me a very rich man. Also the road is closed lol.
After posting a video of you doing a skid out the front of homes when you clearly has no control over the car (in the eyes of the law) i am suprised that you take a stab at my car driving down the road, when i engaged 2nd gear for about 5 seconds. Ever been in a vt, they are slow arent they.

i cant find the one for torque management now, but it shows how and when it intervenes,
