    Default Vt to Vz,good choice??

    Hey guys.
    I have a 2000 Vt series 2 S manual,im thinking about an upgrade to a Vz ute.
My question is,is it worth it?is it really a good idea? and how much do you
think i could sell the Vt for?

First thought is no. VZ is a better vehicle but the extra money spent on you car might be better. I went from a VX exec to a VZ calais so I would have had to spend alot to make the vx nearly as good. Manuals are usually sort after so you should get a reasonable price, no idea on a figure sorry.

vz ss utes are cheap as shit atm, could pick one up with a few mods for $25,000.

To be like simon cowl, im gonna say **** all in regards to your VT. Unless its got really really low k's dont expect anything more then $7000.

I reckon you could get a VZ lower than $25k, a lot lower

if your looking at an SS then yeah. Really? i would have guessed about half that sale value. Your VT might start having serious problems soon too. Getting a bit old. Yes I backflipped. sue me

I just took at peak at carsguide website, if you want a v6, you can get them as low as $21k, V8 and you pay upwards of $30k. Hope that helps

There are V8's going well below $30k. There's a VZ Clubby at a dealer near me going for $30k. My SS was $23k, SV8's are going below $20k.

I bought my ssz for $32000 at the begining of last year, now its worth about $26000.

v8's are becoming unpopular, exactly what happened in the UK. the price of fuel went spastic (Still is) so the value of v8's dropped massively, same thing is happening here

I bought my VZ SV6 at the end of July last year, right when the price of cars was still pretty high (just before the fuel went through the roof) then a few months later I was seeing VY and VZ SS's sub $20k in dealerships all over the place and just had to /facepalm. Get the VZ imo IF you are planning on getting an 8 banger, otherwise I'd prolly say hold onto the VX for a while and save the money, they shouldn't drop too much in value over the next few months or so, don't see a new commy on the horizon for a little while.

if your going to buy a vz ute, wait for a manual, the auto's are pathetic, 6-speed manual box is really really nice

Andyman,im not even going to bother getting an auto, manual all the way!
I can't even get an SS cause im stuck on the P plate rules so i will be getting a V6
i'll have 25k to buy the car with so i should have a fair amount of cash left over to spend on mods and what not.

Buy a thrash box while you're on your P's, then use the money for something nice when you can drive whatever you want. You'll be happier in the long run.
