Don't know how interested everyone is, but I have a few progress pics of the missus VZ getting the raptor kit fitted. We got Tim (Raptor) to supply the blower, bracket, belt, injectors and idler pulley. Rest is being built by Bob Hawkins of Chiptorque Townsville. Should be done by the weekend so we'll see how it goes.
Its a pretty short mod list but we aren't after a power house just something nice to drive, heres a quick list -
3.73 LSD
Transcooler
Pacemaker Extractors
Twin 2.5" Exhuast with hi flow cats
Raptor Supercharger
Bar and Plate Intercooler
Bigger Fuel Pump (I forget what size they told me now)
45lb Injectors
Chiptorque Tune to come
Anyhow I have attached some pics

hey damo, very keen to see this weapon come to life, any idea what time tomorrow it will be coming to life...
I couldn't tell ya, those pics were taken this morning, I spoke to Bob (Chiptorque) about midday and he had most of the plumbing done and the injectors ahd just turned up, so everythign is full steam regardless.

Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's

Am I seeing 2.5" intercooler pipework there and also core with 2.5" in and out"?
Shoulda cranked out a before dyno chart and then the after ........ maybe you did![]()
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Tim, they are running 2.5" hot and 3" cold. I think they are modifying the end tank to suit. Will have a look next time I am there. Also, Impulse says his runs fine with atmo venting bypass valves, are we good to run ours the same?
Damo
Your doing it again.
Yes, run DUAL BOSCH to Atmo valves with 4mm or larger actuator lines, lines must be separate to vacuum souce and ideally one source for each valve is better. Keep lines short as practically possible.
Modding the end tank for 3" outlet would be top of the class stuff, def smart move.

Well you know Bob, nothing is ever done in halves. Really blew me away how good those cats came up. I told him don't make it better then my VS....

Your doing it again.
Yeah that exhaust system is fairly primeIt would be just the way I would do it for my own car, like near identical to my VY.
This Jane won't be so plain![]()
You have probably posted pictures of the car someplace else but would like to see a pic on this thread, fancy wheels?
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Just hope the alloytec sounds OK with an exhuast, I am not a huge fan of V6's with exhuasts, they can sound rather shite at times.
Your doing it again.
The whole job hasn't taken long so far has it? Like in terms of hours, seemed to get a lot done there one day I recall.
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Started on Monday morning, and I think as we talk it must be damn close to finished, probably jsut a few small things. I know they are running with a smaller idler pulley and an electric water pump, so they need to be fitted.
Your doing it again.
Just occurred to me that people reading the thread might not understand that Bob Hawkins is actually building the SC kit onto this car, from Raptor they sourced only the bracket, idler/s, belt, injectors and not much else apart from a Refresh for the charger.
All the intercooler system is made by Bob, SC intake pipes, relocation of P/S reservior etc etc, so doing pretty well to knock it over in this time.
Clue me in on this electric water pump Damo, is this about replacing stock WP or ....?
Raptor Superchargers - Boosting S1/S2 3800's, Ecotec's and Alloytec's
Yeah thats right, plus I think most of monday was taken up doing the diff, exhuast and extractors. The actual mounting of the blower took them bugger all time. I am just re-using everything that came off the VN when it was raptor charged. But your right, if it was the complete kit, the fitting time would be quick as chips.
I edited my first post to relefect this, sorry Tim!

Your doing it again.
The actual blower kit onto engine with intercooling on this car would be the cheapest in Australia probably, SFA parts cost from the SC kit side due to reuse of all your VN stuff

Well I jsut talked to Bob and he said the plumbing is all done and he said I will love it, so going there tomorrow to get some more pics.
Your doing it again.
Lookin schmicko!!
Ohh Flap yeah, love the mods.
I'm also from Townsville, and will be in the area tomorrow, so might come have a sneaky beak if you don't mind =D
If Bob lets you in the shop then go for it, he has the doors shut most of the time at the moment.
Your doing it again.
updates....![]()
Couple of updates. The plumbing is basically done. They are just fitting up the heat shield for the pod and the water pump etc. Tuning should start next couple of days. They stuck with 2.5" cold side plumbing straight out of the cooler then it goes to 3.5" and up to the throttle body. The intake with the pod goes under the blower and is 3.5" stainless. Anyhow here's some pics, it's lookin pretty nice, hope the missus likes it when it's done.
