VZ noise

hi fellas

recentely i have relised that my car started making noise

it is like metal shaking or vibrating or tingling sort of sound

first it sounded like CAT,,, so i bent down and started hitting exhaust but couldnt hear nothing

then i started testing

it makes sound when im driving and put my foot down

even little tap it made noise

and i stoped at carpark where it was quite and echos alot

handbrake up foot on brake and in drive i stated tapping and it made shaddering or tingling or metal vibrating sound

im bit worried about tranny as well

it kinda engages gears roughly

when it engages into 2nd,3rd it makes a clunk sort of sound and it vibrate or shakes a bit....

anyone had similar problem or knows of what it could be?

i will be putting my car up on hoist or jack it up and have proper look at it soon but wanted to find out if anyone knows of or had similar sound or problem..

Not sure i can help you however my SV6 has had 3 gear boxes replaced under warranty and i still have the noise you mention, do me a favour travel on a quite road doing about 60km and hit the brakes hard, let me know if you get the noise, if so do it again and accelerate after the noise and see if the car doesn't want to go anywhere or realy slugish.

P.S Check the harmonic balancer to see if its loose.

finally i found out it what was caused noise

it was the heat sheild on the exhaust

after the cat...........

My SV6 is doing the exact same thing - where about's along the exhaust did you need to tighten it up? I.e can I do it from the engine bay or do I need to get under the car and where abouts.

it cant be done from the engine bay

its better off putting up on hoist

could possibly do it with jacking the car up

its the one straight after the extracters or after cat

i havent got a chance to actually get it up and tight it up or have a good look

but try kicking the tail pipe and you will hear where about the noise is coming from
