Im looking for a VZ calais and im very picky. Just wondering, were all models available with the factory sunroof and the two tone leather? Or were they only available on later models or V8 only ect? Reason im asking is because i cant find a single one for sale that has both of these.(actually cant even find a single car with the interior!)
(sunroof pic a bit crappy, only one i could find)

Well I cant help you with the sunroof but I have 2 tone leather and carpet in my Calais and its the V6.
Sunroof was just an extra not a no cost option so its going be alot harder to find one with two tone and sunroof.
I see you have an '04 model too. Meaning that the interior is not year model specific, this is good news lol.
Was yours hard to find? did you look out for one, or was it just lucky with the one you bought?
Well my car buying is not what you would call methodical.
I saw it at the same dealership that my Mother had to take her car, drove it and bought it.
I don't tend too look for cars they tend to find me.
I think black was more popular as it is a bit easier to look after so getting a shale interior might be a bit harder, I wold honestly get a sunroof put in if you find one with the shale, chances of finding one is very slim.
My vz calais has the 2 tone interior and i luvvv it! itz a 190KW Alloytech too but want sunrooof!!! but ye goodluck!!!
so are the calais' identical to the SV6's performance wise?
I've got a Mazda 6 Luxury Sports with a factory sunroof - for me the novelty of a sunroof wore off pretty quick. These days the sunroof might get opened every 2 - 3 months if that. I'm actually looking at buying a VZ Calais as well, and I'm waiting for a bone leather interior. As said above, if you really want one with a sunroof, you might want to look into installing an aftermarket one as it's not likely that you'll find one with that combination (speaking from my travels) - that's not to say they're not out there though...
*EDIT* By the way, the sunroof was a HBD option - i'm unsure as to how much it cost. Leather was standard, though I'm not entirely sure the bone leather was available on all exterior colours. The velour trim was a no cost option.
I've got a 2004 vz calais with bone interior. Considered the sunroof but never saw one so just forgot about it. My mum has one on her 60th anniversary ssv and has rarely if ever used it. I'd say if you come across one then take it but i wouldn't hold your breath. with the leather i know someone who has the black leather and regrets it every day, point is if you want it then go for it.

ive got the cream leather in my calais aswell, but i havent seen many with sun roofs though and not many over here with the same interior
so do the bone leather version go for a higher price or generally the same as the black leather?
My Calais has the pure black interior, and I prefer it over the white and black alternative.
But that's because my car colour is Martini and it suites it better.
So those people with the two tone interior, mind givine a ball park figure on what they cost? Ive looked through carsales/ebay and cant find any for sale. even the most expensive ones listed are still the all black.
Im not sure if its the same for the newer models like the VZ, but the interior colour (in the VT) depends on the exterior colour. Mine is 'amazon blue' and has the baige interior whereas most others (normal blue, black, white, silver, black, etc) have the grey, but like i said, not sure if its the same in later models
hmmm might hit up Holden about this. Where would i start? ring up any local dealer ect?
Mine is V6 with the two tone bone leather but unfortunately no sunroof. It would have been nice. I have since seen a silver one for sale here in Canberra with both the sunroof and bone leather. Its probably been snapped up already. It was hard to find a VZ Calais here in Canberra let alone one with bone leather interior (I wasn't very keen on the black leather, the bone interior is way more inviting and classy). The only one I found is the one I boughtIt was built in June 2006 and cost about $22000 after I traded in my old VR Calais for practically nothing.
Oh and for those thinking that the bone leather is a pain to clean, it isn't. Mine still looks as good as new. Just condition it every now and then. The only time it ever seems to get dirty is when I get it serviced at Holden and they manage to get grease on itI don't think they ever use those paper seat protectors. The carpet is harder to clean than the seats. I often have to clean my floor mats.
where abouts did you see this one for sale? on the net?
i'm assuming you want to buy from brisbane, check newspapers, not all car yards are on carsales etc. have you considered auctions, mine was from a dealer but they got it from an auction, cut the middle man and save some quid. by the way what colour, engine are you after.

Yes would prefer from Brisbane in possible, but at this rate, im looking for anything haha.
Hmmmm havent thought of auctions, will have to look into that some more, thanks.
Idealy, i would like a white VZ Calais, bone leather interior, sunroof, and 190KW V6.
one day maybe......
yeah i always thought it was colour specific on the outside as to whether or not you could go for the bone leather.
Chev badges are an instant fail
Like i said before, I've been looking for a while. It's almost impossible to find a white calais with the bone interior (out of the hundreds i've seen on carsales, i've come across one - it had about 130k on it though). White looks really classy, though you'd have to live with the black interior unless you were REALLY lucky.
As hingo said before, one did sell in Canberra on the weekend. I went to look at it in Phillip on Saturday, but i was too late. It was silver with HBD sunroof. The salesman told me a guy from Perth bought it, just paid for it and asked them to send it over on a truck. He didn't even look at it, was very tidy though. I had a good look over it. Had about 75k with the 5.7L engine. It was only on carsales for a couple of days, that's how the bloke bought it.
When i was looking for a Mazda 6, there was only one that met all my criteria. I had to go to Shepparton to get it - even though it's a nuicance to change over the rego etc. I would have been disappointed if i'd settled for something less.
I've got my name down at a few dealers in Canberra if they manage to come across one. I might suggest doing the same - as well as all the options everyone else has supplied you with.
gtr, considered a ve by any chance? id take one over a zed any day lol

I have also compared the interiors and the VE's leather looks a bit hard.
On another note, I was parked at a Motel in Wollongong a couple of weeks ago and a VE Calais parked next to my car. I was packing stuff into my car when the owner came out, opened his door directly into my drivers door and put a nice big scratch on it then drove away thinking I didn't notice. When I put my arms in the air in a "what the ****?" manner, he stopped and apologised. Some people just don't give a shit.
thanks for the input guys.
andy, as for a ve, hingo said it all in this first paragraph. Prefer VZ in probably every way. I like Ve's but i like the VZ's more. Only thing better about the VE is the extra bit of power, but that can be fixed in the VZ![]()
