hi fellas
i was driving to city and saw UNITED servo and they had price of 99.7
without any wait i was there filling up
however after i filled up..
it said "NOT PATROL"
i was like WT*?
i went in and asked
and the guy told me it was E85
which contains 85% ETHANOL
he have mentioned that it was not for the normal vehicles
only for certain vehicles.....
i had about 10L of 91 octane inside
and put 25L of E85
nothing major changed other than lacking bit of performance?
bit heavy shake in idle
so,,, what do you guys recommend me to do?
empty tank ?
just drive around till empty?
i already drove about 50kms
if its empty tank job, do these have fuel tank drain plug?
or tank off the car job?
PLEASE HELP ME PEOPLE!!!
I AM IN DEEP **IT...![]()
You really should have been more careful, if things are too cheap there is generally a reason. Personally i don't fill up at anything that isn't Caltex, Shell, BP... as much as i'd like to support independents i wouldn't when it comes to my fuel.
Anyway, what i'd do is fill the rest of the tank with unleaded 98 until full and then keep topping it up to dilute the E85.

Ouch must hurt!! i would be crying. Yes do take care and i go wit bp caltex or shell to be on da safe side. Well goodluck mate shuld be all good soon.
yeah, you could fill the rest up with 98 and it might run a lil iffy still for a bit,
but id prefer to empty the tank and refill,
easist way to do this is disconnect the fuel line at the fuel filter and direct it into a jerry can, buckets etc, might need to get a larger hose that fits over the connector if you need to extend the hose
then insert a paper clip between terminals 30 and 87 on the fuel pump relay,
if you do this be very careful not to run the pump dry,

ok
sevo is on the victoria ave
about 3kms away from anzac bridge
UNITED is the name
which is after the little bridge (dont know the name)
it is before the caltex (100m up there is caltex)
thanks guys for the help
what i have done is i filled up with 91 unleaded
i went for a LONG A** DRIVE today
from CHATSWOOD to BONDI through VICTORIA AVE
BONDI to DEEWHY then CHATSWOOD
CHATSSWOOD to PARRAMATTA
then back
on the clock it showed i drove around 250kms
i drove around here and there more,,
n it almost emptyed tank
soon when it showed 7kms to empty
i filled up 98unleaded from BP
and just got home
hopefully it will clean out some **it built inside
also i found out e10fules are not recommended for commodores
as commodores are not meant to use ethanol blended fuel anyway to start with
and it will corrod and rusten fuel systems and COULD possibly cuase engine damage if its used for a long term
even though ethanol blended fuels seem to be cheaper than the normal 91unleaded, they seem to use more fuel than normal 91ULD...
which works out to be the same price of fuel you spend at the end of the day
however if you used 98ULD, it will not only clean your system, but will provide better combustion as well as better economy..
anyways guys thats the MY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE i know..
if not let me know
mate, e10 is fine for alloytecs my VE has a sticker on the inside of the fuel flap saying recommended for e10. not that i ever use it. e85 is actually 45% ethanol. i'd just fit as much 98ron into the tank as possible then drive the thing around for very easily no more the half throttle.
I agree vz's can take ethanol blended fuel..my svz also has a sticker on the lid of the fuel tank...
Ive never tried the fuel but am pretty sure it would affect the performance of the car..I personally use 98 octane from caltex![]()
