vz wont unlock or lock

when i press the lock or unlock buttons the lights flash but the doors dont lock or unlock after about 5 minutes it works again anybody got any ideas as my son got stuck in there for a couple of minutes dont wont to drive it now dont wont to risk it again???

Had this happen when trying to use the second key on my VZ. If we used 1 key to start the car the other key would not lock or unlock the car. Had to get the body control module replaced and the keys reprogrammed.

Looks like this is a very common problem with the VZ.

happens when i use the same same key only have one the car and key work together cause when i press unlock or lock it flashes just wont unlock the doors
