That sounds like a whole lot of k's for a 4yr old car...but some people don't care about how many it's done, as long as its tidy, straight, and still drives well. Take it for a test drive if you can and see how it goes...but, imo if you dont need it right now save a bit more cash, theres execs/acclaims around 10k ish with much less ks...

    stay off it,
2 many km, and try and trade it in, you want get anything because of the km.
there are so many cars 4 sale, take your time and look 4 another car with less km.
you can only spend your money once !

300,000 Km is a lot for its age and probablely had a hard life.if it has had money spent to keep it in good condition (new shock, bushes, seals) and a good service history could be ok.if not walk away it will cost you big time.holdens are not the best build car will start to die quickly if neglected.

300,000km has that been to the moon & back!
As mentioned, most likely has had a hard life, ill definitely steer clear mate.
Avg k's for an '05 Exec are between 60,000-100,000.

300,000ks, id pay about half what theyre asking!!

Did you see it in an ad or did you see the actual car? if it was an add it might have been a typo, but im guessing if you were about to buy you would have seen it in the flesh

yeh, id definatly stay away, far far far too expensive

lol, lemme guess the previous owner bought it then towed his frikken car around australia or something to that effect. Either way, WAY too expensive for that dude, if you can knock him down a few thou, do it and just buy a new crate motor for it In the vicinity of $3800 these days if I am not mistaken.

    way over priced...

probably a good buy at $4K lol..

If 9K is your budget check the auctions, you'll find a lot lower kms for less.

After travelling that distance, you are probably looking at much more than just the engine and transmission condition.

Unless they have been replaced previously, all suspension bushes, shocks, springs and ball joints will be very tired. Hydraulics would need total overhaul just to be safe, electrical gremlins are bound to poke their ugly little heads up...

just too many k's to start off with.

Look elsewhere, or ask him to give you $9k plus the car.....

The best place to get a cheap low km car is from a ex lease yard. They can do finance and other than the auctions you will find it hard to beat their prices. My 05 sv6 40000km cost just over 20k 18 months ago, one owner (university) all log books.

Im just saying that 300,000 kays is shit loads, even a diesel motor that goes for a long time i would consider not buying it. So i wouldnt touch a 300,000km petrol engine with a 10foot pole.

Pickles for example do fixed price auctions.. no bidding.. they may be a little more than the auction cars but you can get them inspected etc and no need for a bidding war etc way cheaper than a car yard still..

300,000km on a 4 year old car - GEEZUS! Even your average taxi does less than that in 4 years!

One good thing to do is to go to another car yard and tell em you have a 300k 04 VZ to trade - what would they give you for it. Watch em get a cold sweat and say "maybe 5 grand mate"
