hey fellas
just wondering what insurance everyone has?
like,,, CTP and the COMP or TPI?'
which ones cheap or good?
any suggestions?
WARNING:
DO NOT get insurance with BUDGET DIRECT. STAY AWAY.
It will be the cheapest quote you get, but thats because they do cheap and poor quality repairs.
Anyway, thats out of the way
I've got Comprehensive insurance, personally that's all i'd ever get, its more expensive, but its just safer i suppose. Otherwise CTP I guess.
Try and get an insurance company that'll give you 'agreed value' rather than market value
Comprehensive, covers u & any other party involved. As said before i wouldn't go any other insurance other than compo.
In saying ive got Comprehensive with NRMA + 65% max no claim bonus & recently got my renewal in the mail. $1198 down from $1215 last year.
Details are 2004 VZ SV6 6sp, 1 driver, 26yo, private use.
The Blue One
AAMI Insured for $26000 @ $780.00 per year..
I'd go with NRMA, when it comes to accidents and repairs they put brand new parts in, rather than old parts like AAMI. AAMI are also bastards to deal with, well my family and I think so anyway.
I pay around $800 with AAMI but that's with the flexi-premium thingie... my excess is $800. NRMA quotes are significantly cheaper but they wouldn't insure me because of my driving record (used to own a skyline before the commy)
I'm with WQBE, insured for $25,000 (agreed value) for my 05' VZ SV6 A5. Insurance is $53p/m ($636p/y) with an excess of $300. Full comprehensive.

there should only be one type of insurance - FULL COMPREHENSIVE.
I think I paid just under $1,200 for my insurance this year. 04 VZ Calais, 3.6 Litre. I'm with RACV, rating 1, 24 years old. I turn 25 in September and will renew my insurance in November, I'm expecting the premium to go down since turning 25 and my excess will go from $950 to $400.
Might use that flexi premium thing to bump the premium down while increasing the excess.
Definitely go full comp though. You'd be spewin if you had an at fault accident and only had 3rd party insurance... the other car is covered but yours isn't. In the case of an accident you will be EXTREMELY happy that you went full comp!
Completely agree with you there, if the guy who hits you is not insured you're pretty well f**ked unless they can fork out the cash OR you yourself have full comprehensive. Also, just for the record, I'm 27, when I was about 25 I was paying about $80p/m for full comp through SGIO. I ended up getting home and contents insurance with SGIO when I took my car over the westernQBE and SGIO have a %10 discount on home and car on same policy, so I asked em what I would be paying if I brought my car back to them they said "$2800 a year" bahahahahah what a load of shitSome insurance companies charge more than others, REALLY pays to shop around. Couldn't care less about the %10 discount on both home and car, having home with SGIO and car with WQBE is MILES cheaper in the long run.

Phoned QBE, got quoted the following
$1'076 pa with max NCB & $500 excess.
Im going to switch to QBE, forget NRMA. Thats more than $100 saved![]()

looks like insurance is most expensive in Sydney
The Blue One
I went with AAMI, $780ish p/y, insured for $22000, and that's for me and the misses, im 19, she's 20.
you havn't put your parents as the owner of the car and you as the primary driver on the policy or something like that have you? sounds like it ....... Especially for that age.

My wifes vz 600 ayear 29 with $250 excess ,insured for 17k.
Nah mate, just me and the misses...
She was the primary driver though, but we are both covered.
I was a little pissed to pay that much, but appears it was a bargain.. =D
i have full comp, market value. Was going to go for agreed value until a few companies i called put market value at 7K above what i paid haha.
and everyone in here has cheap cover. i had to get it under parents name, as on my own full comp came to 4K....
Some cars aren't worth getting comprehensive insurance on. A P-plater in a $1000 car will spend more per year on premiums than the car is worth.
If it's a VZ though, yes you'll want comprehensive. They are still worth a bit.
