well as some of u know ive had the manifold insulators and pod kit on the car, now one thing ive done last night was head out to willobank and to my surprise is stock i ran a 15.6 1/4 and u would think that i would run faster with exhaust pod and insulators but nope, ran a 15.7 was the fastest of the night sure temps were slightly higher then last time i went out, but could definately notice the top end backing off on the drag strip.
so it now comes down to do i take the insulators out as they seem to be taking more power away from the top end as the runners are now longer which increases torque down low but looses top end.
i still have to put extractors and cats ont he car and a tune, which i think will help with my issuses but also all of the mods i have done are suppose to help fuel economy and all ive noticed is my fuel go from 500km a tank to 400a tank mind u my foot have become more heavy as love the noise of the pod as given. just wanted to see what u guys think and maybe get an idea on what u guy think would be the best next mod to do
60 footers?? I ran a 15.1 in my cammed SSS with a 2.4 sixty footer where my mate ran the same time in his stock SSS because he had a 2.1 sixty footer. Also what were the MPH's for each 15.6 and 15.7?
last night 23deg, 59%H, 1008mB, 1666RA, (TT)31deg 25/4/09 mph 89.00
well fastest run last time was 12deg, 34%H, 1017mB, -372RA, (TT) 18deg 14/8/08mph 60ft 2.295 mph 89.88
Well the lower MPH indicates that there could be a loss in power perhaps?
well it feels like its faster off the launch but drops substantially after 4500rpm just from what i felt last night
well we took the manifold off and to our surprize the gasket goop was still all runy on one side so we think that could have been the problem so now $100bucks later i now have two holden gaskets one each side of the insulators and we will see how this goes for now, i believe temps would have had a big thing to do with it and im gonna get the exhaaust checked out as could be one of the mufflers might not be flowing the best.
does the engine covers still line up right with the insulators and what not?
