steering wheel stereo controls

So all of a sudden my volume and mode etc on my wheel has decided it will only work every now and then if at all.I have a 2006 vz ss anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be its pissing me right off,thanks guys.

Clockspring could be shorting out somewhere? or the contacts for the buttons shot? Some rough/vague ideas, Phreddy or Andy would probably be more suited to helping out on this one

my only guess is wiring in the sterio is loose/faulty..sorry couldnt help more
