Why did you assume i drove a VT?
They will be going on a VY, Same chassis as VT though. Yeah yeah i know " 22s look way to big on a commo man". But im not hear for opinions.
I don't mind the Advanti racing Sabotage, Do they not come in a 8.5 for the 22 though?
I assumed you had a VT because in your title it says your ride is a VT.
The reason I say that 22's are no good for pre VE models is because they can't be done legally. There is no tyre that will keep the rolling diameter less than stock+15mm. Besides, if there were the load rating wouldn't be high enough. Then there's width on some 22's which can be an issue.
If legality doesn't bother you it can be done...but then your cars gonna have to sit pretty high to get them to fit. You'd need a 235/30R22 (90 Load Rating) with a 700mm outer diameter or a 245/30R22 (92 Load rating) with a 706mm outer diameter.
The Advanti Sabotage don't come in a 8.5" width.
Why does the outer diameter increase 6mm with a 245?
I will be using 245's front and rear to get the load rating right, Hopefully on the 8.5" rims i won't have to much of a problem up front with scrubbing and fouling etc...
Even with coilovers, Have you found the 22s to ride high?
Cheers for your help dude.
Even if the load rating is right the rolling diameter is still too big and will be illegal.
The rolling diameter increases because the width increases.
a 235/30R22 = Width 235mm, Aspect 30% (of 235mm = 70.5mm) , 22" wheel diameter
a 245/30R22 = Width 245mm, Aspect 30% (of 245mm = 73.5mm) , 22" wheel diameter
the difference in sidewall height is 3mm (upper sidewall + lower sidewall = 6mm)
the tyres will still make the car ride high because the rolling diameter is about 50mm bigger than standard, meaning, in order to make the car ride at a normal looking height you need to lower the suspension by 25mm min..... just to get it to sit at a standard height. If you want it lower then you can imagine just how far up into the guards those tyres are going to sit....it's not just a case of rolling the guards....fitting 22's on a pre VE vehicle is only something you would do to a show car that doesn't need any suspension articulation or turning circle not a road registered car.
Here's a pic to show just how crazy it is.
This is as far as the wheel will turn and the suspension is under no compression at all....image what happens when you hit a bump....also look at how high it sits...

I'm looking for a pair of 18" tyres, currently rolling on Maxxis MA-Z1 235/40/18, so at least as good as these. Looking at around $200-$275. Rims are 8".

The Toyo Teo Plus also falls into this category at $CONTACT US but is a completely different tyre than the Maxxis in that its a touring pattern as opposed to a performance pattern.

Hi , I need a pair - possibly set of 4 205/50R16 for my wifes subaru.
I've checked out your site and want to ask your opinion of your range in that size. After a good value tyre that will last a while ( seems to chew out tyres pretty quick) and not be too skatey in the wet. Has MAXXIS Surpasa at the moment, 2 of which have delamination in the sidewall. If you can i'd like to know the treadwear/traction/temp rating of the nexen's you have in that size. CHEERS !!
Am looking at 2 new tyres 245/45/18 on SS rims what can you recomend.
Have looked at FEDERAL SS-595 ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE at around $220 each are these any good and do you stock them. Am from Geelong pity you dont have a store down here.
Thanks for any help.
