Default The Wheel Deal - Introduction

    www.thewheeldeal.com.au
Australias best deals on tyres & wheels

    THE COMPANY
The Wheel Deal is a family owned business that has been operating solely online since 2009 and has industry roots back to the early 80's. After many years doing the hard yards in the tyre & wheel industry we have setup The Wheel Deal, an online store catering for the next generation of customer. With the intention of providing customers a more contemporary shopping experience combined with unrivalled customer service and expertise, we look forward to dealing with as many of you as possible.

    THE PRODUCTS
Looking through the website you will find over 2000 products and constantly growing. With the tyre industry being what it is, it is simply impossible to offer every single product to customers via the website. That said, if there is a product you don't see listed on the website please just ask! We have many many suppliers with access to almost any tyre & wheel brand so please don't hesitate to ask about anything.

The website is very easy to use and by clicking on your make and model on the front page you will be presented with a plethora of wheel & tyre sizes & styles. We are constantly updating to include new makes & models but if yours isn't listed please just send us an email and we will help you out.

    THE DEALS
The Wheel Deal prides itself on offering the most competitive deals and as such offers all Just Commodores users discounts. These discounts may change from time to time but if you are after a really good deal, you can count on finding it here.

Whether you are purchasing just tyres, just wheels or a custom package deal you can rest assured that the numbers will add up in your favour. Whilst the best value is in package deals, you will still find big savings to be had by purchasing your tyres online. Sure, you will still have to pay fitting, balancing & tyre disposal fees but with our already low prices combined with your Just Commodores discount you will surely find The Wheel Deal has the best deal for you.

    THE DISTRIBUTION
The Wheel Deal has an Australia wide freight agreement ensuring very competitive freight rates across the country. In some circumstances, drop shipping directly from our suppliers can be arranged out of most major capital cities saving you on freight.

DON'T KNOW THE FIRST THING ABOUT TYRES OR WHEELS?
Many customers come to us saying that they just don't know what makes a good tyre or a poor tyre, or what all the numbers on the side of a tyre mean, or what pitch circle diameter means.....and thats OK!!! Usually it's as simple as choosing the style of wheel you like and a realistic tyre budget and we will get back to you with an amazing deal shipped to your door. We will from time to time try to provide detailed tyre & wheel technical references where we can for those who want to learn more. We are more than happy to give advice on legalities & fitments however we do always advise our customers to understand their responsibilites.

Remember, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

    THANKS
A big Thank You to the Just Commodores Community for all your support.

Good timing! I'll be chasing some 235/40R18 tyres as well. Not really worried about how long they last of road noise, but I want something that will hang on through the corners and they have to be good in the wet as well.
I know its like asking how long a piece of string is, but could you PM me a couple of prices between $200-300/tyre?

What load rating do you require?
Also what tread pattern were you quoted on?

Would it be worth finding out the load ratings for various commodores, and putting them in a sticky at the top of your section? Some of us (like me) have never even thought about it and just trusted the tyre guys

Really it's up to you what you're prepared to spend, I personally like the Sumitomo HTRZIII.

I actually have them in a reference manual next to me but unless I know what the factory delivered tyre size was then it's a bit of a stab in the dark at what the placard says.

    An example.

A VS Exec with 205/65R15 had a min of 95
A VS Exec with 215/60R16 had a min of 94
A VS Ute with 215/60R15 had a min of 93
A VS Maloo Ute with 225/45R17 had a min of 90

obviously there were tons of options on each series so it really depends on each persons placard. Maybe a better thread would be a "Where is your tyre placard" thread.

Ah I see, I didn't realise it was that complicated. I guess we will all have to spend the 5 mins going to the shed and finding out ourselves. Its such a tough life sometimes

    For the VP on 17's I recommend 235/45R17's ..... what's your budget?

Yes, tyres can be freighted on their own.

Are your prices inclusive of postage, or is that added on top. And if so, what are rough postage costs to Melb for 2 or 4 tyres? (ball-park figure)

Depends where you are in Melbourne, since we're based in Melbourne you can pickup for free, otherwise delivery is relatively cheap, about ~$5 - $8 a tyre depending on your location. Send me a Pm with your location and I'll get you a price.

For other states, tyres & wheels can be shipped from remote warehouses e.g QLD can be freighted out of Brisbane or Fraser Coast, NSW out of Sydney, WA out of Perth, etc etc thus saving you on freight.

Thanks for all the enquiries guys...

A lot of your are asking for genuine and replica Holden & HSV wheels. Just a quick note to others that we can supply both, so if genuine is your thing or you are just after the right look on a budget, just ask for a great deal.

I've got some VX GTS 19" replicas going for great prices at the moment.

    Cheers guys

What the heck would you buy for $90 in that size? (serious question - I would like to know. It seems so cheap they couldn't be much better than a retread, surely?)

$89 is a special price available only this month, regular price is $115

The tyres are 100% brand new Strata Zeno 235/45R17 94H
    Here's the pattern:

They are a perfectly well rounded tyre (pun intended), if anything a little bit noisier than the premium brands but it's horses for courses.
