Default 05 Vz S Ute (rear width)

Hi i am looking at a set of Advanti A8 Afonso's in the Staggered Fittement!
20x8.5 & 20x9.5 Rear! Will the 9.5 be too extreme even though its a Ute!
The rear springs are only King Spring SuperLows!

What would be best tyre size to fit them!! Also wanting to get guards rolled for extra piece of mind

    Thanks in advance
    Brad

    Hi Brad,

Yes 20x9.5 is too big for the rear of your VZ Ute.

Another point to consider is that Advanti A8 Afonso is not available in Australia. I'd suggest having a look through the styles on our webpage to get a better idea of what is and isn't available to you.

I now have 2 seperate prices to have these wheels delivered and you are the first person to tell me the 9.5 wont fit!! Will only require a guard roll as the +40 offset is perfect!!

    Thanks

How far do you want to go with it? You could tub the ute (easy because there arent any back seats) to the rails and then run basically whatever wheels you want, and whatever height you want

245/30R20 is the correct and legal size tyre (unless you have a 9.5" rim)

Perhaps I should have been more specific - It's do-able but we certainly wouldn't recommend it - you can fit whatever size wheel you want under the back of any vehicle with enough modifications.

Regarding tyre sizes, I don't think you will find a 235/30R20 which is load rated for your VZ, but it's a moot point anyway because 245/30R20 is fine on the front anyway (on a 20x8/8.5 +45 wheel) and will be load rated. No need for a 235 front.

As for the rear, you can't legally put a 245/30R20 on a 9.5" wide rim (not saying it won't fit) so you would put a 255/30R20. But this begs the question, why? All the added expense of having different front and rear tyres and wheels what is the benefit? ~10mm extra tread width, maybe a little more dish perhaps if that's what you are after. You are losing the ability to rotate tyres front to back whilst also exposing your rear wheel rims to pothole and gutter damage.

Again, I'm not saying it can't be done just that we wouldn't recommend it. But at the end of the day it's your call.
