    Default Offset Issue

    Hey guys,

Just about to upgrade my wheel setup from some 17's to 20's but my wheel offset is going to change from +48 to +45 which means i'll have a -3mm offset? Is this alot and do i need to fix it? If so whats the best way to fix it?

    Any info will be appreciated!

    Cheers

3mm won't do much mate, should be fine. Will just sit 3mm closer to the outside guards. What's the width? I've run 19x8.5 +38 with no issues, 245/35 tyre.

245/30R20 is the size you want.

As sweefu has pointed out, the change from +48 to +45 is a good thing and won't be a problem. Additionally you want to run a 245/30R20 if possible. 225/35R20 is OK but in some cases is outside the legal rolling diameter limit.

Depends on what size tyre you want to run, what sort of suspension you are running, width of the wheel etc. Need more info

20x8.5 or i may settle for 19x8s as for tyres well the rims will be a new purchase of ebay but i do have a set on 225/xx/20s in the shed.

stock suspension in the vy but will lower the rear just a tad......

as i have no idea on wheel offsets whats a minimum.

The majority of wheels you'll look at will be +45 or +48, either of these will be fine. Only few wheels for Commodores will have an odd or lower offset.

+42 is fine but 235/35R19 likely won't have a high enough load rating for your car.

Yes Pete - aside from some very early 4cyl Commodores - they are all 5/120.

Suggestions...without knowing what you like, what size you need, what your budget is...very hard mate. It's like saying "i need some shoes" and asking for a suggestion...Do you need thongs, Boots, Runners, High tops...how much do you wanna spend..?? what size do you need??....
