Tyre size for VR & VN??

My mate and I are looking to get a new set of tyres. We currently have 245-35-19s on our cars. We wondering if we would be able to fit 245-40-19?? I have a VR and he owns a VN.

No 245/40R19 won't fit either vehicle.

With enough mods you can go as wide as you want....it's really dependant on each particular vehicle, wheel offset, suspension height....it's not a straight forward answer.

Your best bet is to go out side and take some measurements to see how much extra clearance you've got on the inner wheel arch and outer wheel arch keeping in mind suspension travel and turning circle. Unless you are going to do some serious mods and fit something 275 wide or over, then it simply won't be worth it. The cost of jumping up to a 265/30R19 is probably not worth it for the benefit...but it's your call... 275/30R19's are cheaper than 265's and will definitely give you a traction advantage over the 245's but in all honesty..anything in between just won't be worth it in terms of the cost vs benefit..
