    Default Rockers

Hey guys will Yella Terra rocker from a VN S1 V6 fit straight into a VN S2 V6 with no mucking around just like when fitting them to a S1?

    Or will they be different?

Nah thanks okay i will be best to get the ones that are made 4 it so there's no trouble.

I have a question related to this. In a OHC engine the cams roll around and push down the valves, if you put bigger cams the hold the valves down longer giving a better performance.

In a pushrod engine the cams at the bottom (or middle) roll around and push the rods which rock the rockers which pushes the valves down. If you put in better rockers they give it better lift make performance better.

Is therefore changing cams or rockers on a buick 3800 only do the same thing as each other.

This is my view on how it works i suspect I'm wrong so anyone is welcome to correct me as i would like to know how it works.

    Thanks again guys

Cams and rockers do similar things, but not the same.

A cam can change how far a valve opens (lift), and when it begins to open and close (duration - how long it's open). Rockers only let you alter lift, they can't change when the valve is actually open.

Cams give you more tuning ability, but usually cost more by the time you factor in installation. This is why you often hear rockers referred to as "a poor man's cam".

Default 2 ECU failures in past 5 months

Hi Guys, I have a 2001 VU ute manual bought it in january and have replaced the ECU twice in that time. I have replaced them with 2nd hand ecu's both times so I guess my question is has anyone else experienced this problem and have any suggestions for resolving it and also where can i get a good quality recon ECU as the new ones are $1200.

I have'nt heard too many issues with the delco computers, there may be a wiring issue thats causing the computer to fry, the best place to check this out would be a tuning shop as they may be able to check your computer to see whats happening,
