i think there is a thread already goin around with the information..

from what i read i think you can get a custom manifold for the whipple to bolt in from a guy at yella terra, but i also think they cost $10,500 or there abouts

Hopefully someone from Yella Terra comes in here, if so, is the manifold available without the Whipple (for those of us that either already have one or buy direct from the US)?

Idefinetly agree with u man, but when u can get a whole ttrim kit from capa for 10.. What the best way to blow air into your car for the best price. I know the whipples are awesome though, and an expensive blower by themselves. Im just spewin that its so pricey

Agree with stocky... Whipple is a whole other class of blower, but you pay for what you get.

Whipples make more power earlier and keep running that right through. Have used a Whipple R980 in a drag car that managed to run low 7's. Used them in powerboats that make 1500hp at the flywheel. (would of pushed more, but the old 3.3's self destruct in the snout at that point, will be trialing a 8.3 soon.)

Check out the`whipple website. has some good info bout the whipple verses other types of forced induction. whipple chargers piss on everything. even a turbo up high and has sweet FA lag

Actually Performance Systems Inc. produce better blowers then whipple... but they are best suited to big capacity motor (e.g. big block chev). Hence why whipple no longer produce big blowers like their old R980.

Since when have Whipple done a 5.5?

They do a 5.0L and 8.3L which are both physically the same size, just that all the internals have been mirrored. (male rotor is now on right side instead of the left like the 5.0.. larger gear driven instead of the small). What we are waiting for is the next big one which is in the pipe line as well speak.

    Wink Whipple 5.0L kit update

    Hey All,

    Just an update,

First stages of testing are now underway and have come up with good results.

A stock VS 5.0L, standard110 rwkw, now 250rwkw, this was non intercooled, a lazy 8psi basic tune with larger injectors.

We have our own YT test vehicle a VS SS A.K.A ( The Purple People Eater ) going for tuning/testing sometime next week.

I will put up results as soon as they come to hand,
I may also have pricing then too

a sneak peak of our production kit below

    Cheers

That thing is a weapon, seen it on the dyno down at Hallam Performance. That car is sweet mainly because it's a cammed 355
