Hi guys. Just wondring if anyone has had experience fitting a Yella Terra Terra Charger on a duel fuel 5.0 V8? The engine is standard apart from extractors and the duel fuel lpg system.
Just wondering what is required to be able to still run on both ulp and lpg without any problems. Is there anything that I need to be aware of duing the instillation and set up? Any extra hardware required? Any tips or advice?
Thanks in advance.
Can anybody help with and info or tips???
Cheers.
The blowers work great with LPG but the one concern is if you get a backfire theres a lot of compressed fuel in the manifold to go boom. A pressure relief valve or blow off valve would be good if you can fit one in. Unless you are running vapour injection LPG.
Mate I just charged my ecotec with a yella terra m90.
I know its not a 5l but its duel fuel.
It works great on both petty and gas.
Its been tuned on gas and tuned to run 98.
Biggest down side I found is the restriction the gas mixer ring has a tiny hole and
really restricts air flow into the engine.
Install wise it took a mate and myself 2days to complete the install.
That was with changing head gaskets also.
Runs brilliant!!!! Only a couple small bugs to sort out.
Need longer pushrods and tossing up about extractors.
Overall though, if your mechanically minded go for it!!!
Just get it tuned when its all done.
Any other questions shoot,
I'll help if i can.

The Cometic head gaskets that came with the kit are quite thick, raising the height of the heads.
So the rods aren't pushing the 1.9 rockers completely open.
Got a longer set coming.

What power difference with the blower between lpg and petrol ? I am looking to set the same on my ecotec. L67's are running around on dual fuel, like my brother in laws, once leads and plugs are set, backfires are reduced. We running scorcher leads, he has the Bosch IR Fusion and I am running the Bosch LPG plugs, made purely for lpg. An ignition specialist advised him on the Bosch plugs wit the 4 prongs, as not because they will make power but in the case of backfires, with the 4 prongs theres always a path for the spark to travel, strong or weak, but reduces misfires which is the main reason for lpg backfires.

Power diff is negligable now. I have only run it on 91 on petrol as i was using the last of the tank.
However, it runs smooth as on gas and doesn't starve for gas at high rpm.
Biggest thing as you said is 2 make sure the ignition system is 100%.
Im not running flash plugs or nething.
Its still to be 100% tuned as im waiting on the longer rods.
But the dude doing the tune said he tuned for 98.
I love it, wish i had of done it ages ago. . . . .
Im also using the same if not a little less gas around town. On the open road Im usin about 1.5L/100k less, so on gas I'm averaging about 9.5L/100ks.
