hey mate if i get one of those with the intercooler setup will everything still fit under the bonnet of a vs?
if it does, is there any chance of keeping my strut brace on with this setup, with or without the intercooler? i've got a whiteline brace at the moment that runs straight across between the strut towers however nolathane's brace has a bend in it and sits back near the firewall, im hoping if one wont fit the other will
if my rig was a street/drag car i wouldnt care but it will be a wkend track day toy one day so i would try and have a brace on there if possible
im sure u blokes will have a trade stand at summernats, any chance of bringing along a commie with this kit bolted on? it would be great to have a close look at one

Hi there vx calais in those pictures mine is the red motor kit # 001 i can tell you that mine is a completely standard engine, if i was to go intercooled i would have to consider engine mods, but YT guys would be able to give you a better idea. since photo's were taken i have had the welds on the stainless air box to throttle body re welded and brushed back to a satin finnish so now it looks like it's one piece.

The manifold is designed to be intercooler ready which houses the W2A core inside the manifold which won't effect the hight.
The kit will look no different than the non intercooled kit from the out side except for two water hoses coming out of the front of the manifold.
The whole kit doesn’t sit any higher than the STD manifold. Plenty of our Whipple kits have been sold with the customers running strut bracers.
We are always on display at the Summernats and the R&D car known as “project plum” will be on display and cruising the grounds, as well as a kit on display, assembled on a stand.

    Cheers, Matt.

Have you guys run any of these on any 355ci motors yet? Just want to know how they go on a larger motor. I think i saw one of these at the extreme horsepower show here in adelaide a couple of weeks ago. Looks as though the one in the pic sits higher, different kit?

There is a couple of customer 355/383 builds on the go now who have purchased our 2.4L Whipple kit.
The 2.4L Whipple unit used in our kit is designed to support over 700HP and will work effortlessly on a 383 stroker.

We have supplied a lot of custom kits over he years before the production kit was available.
The custom kit in the pic we used the larger 3.4L Whipple which is quite a bit taller and longer and won’t fit under the bonnet, the rest of the kit’s hard ware is the same.
This will be available as a off the self kit early next year but will be around $2000 more than the current 2.4 Whipple kit.

    Cheers, Matt.

Nice! So where do you see the limitations with the 2.4L whipple on a 355? Is the 2.4L only capable of up to 10psi?

No, the 2.4 kit will remain at the advertised price of $7545inc.
If we see a market and decide to release the Monster version of this kit it'll probably be around $2000 more.
The current 2.4 Kit is more than enough blower to handle the extreme builds.

    Cheers Matt.

The 2.4L screw based blower is capable of 20+ psi and producing efficient power up to 18,000rpm blower speed.
It's the perfect match for the 355/383 strokers.

Excellent! So why do people opt for the 3.4L kit? I assume cruise control and kick down for the autos are retained? Looks one cable short in the pics. Do you guys offer finance? lol

Both our 1.5L TerraCharger and 2.4L Whipple kits are engineered and manufactured to be ADR Compliant.
With low boost and good condition cats they will pass emissions testing.
Alot of our 5.0L kits are out there with ADR approval.

Just keep a small high boost pulley in the glove box for when you leave the testing station.
