The XU6 is mechanically identical to any other L67 from that model year except for the larger intake snout, HSV headers and larger cat back as well as the slightly different calibration to account for these parameters.
To answer your ??? though, changing rockers is not needed at all. It is good to do as a stepping stone to more extensive mods but not the be all and end all. Fitting 1.9/ 1.95 YT rockers will actually lose a tad of bottom end power but will give a much broader spread throughout the rev range.
