G'day
Just recently, my VT 3.8 V6 broke down which is claimed to be due to the valve springs and what not sh1ting itself in one of the pistons and killed her. Prior to this, the cars done about 184k Km's with pacies, 2.5inch exhaust, SS C.A.I, K&N filter, FIT 1.97:1 rockers and a pre-programed tuned chip to suit.
Now the commo's getting a new crate motor and my mechanic strongly reccommended not to install the rockers again as it voids warrenty and can possibly play up again.
so just a few questions,
1. having stock rockers re-installed, would this mess with the settings on the tuned chip?
2. I'm keen to have my rockers installed and want YT rockers. Whats your recommendation in reguards to my setup?
Thanks
Tom
the rockers shouldnt affect your tune at all.
I would highly recomend the YT roller rockers (as i have a set in my car) and depending on wat your future mods are will depend on the ratio you get. If you goin to put a cam in later on go for the 1.70 ratio but if you not camming it then i wouldnt go any higher than 1.95 rockers. You can also get these rockers in a split ratio (eg. 1.9 inlet/1.95 exh or 1.95 in and exh)
im looking for a set of these for my vr by july
How long were the FIT 1.97's in the VT V6 motor for ?
