Micky, i asked a while back about a 90mm throttle body. Im still going to get one but ive had a setback.
The charger and heads are off while i replace head gaskets. Cometic or ACL MLS type gaskets are fine? Ive searched through the posts but cant find any info on a suitable cam to go with the charger. During your testing did you test any bigger cams other than standard that will match with the YT non-adjustable RR's? The cast heads are going to be left basically alone cept maybe some mild flow work.
So any recommendations on a cam to suit a standard bottom end, mild head work, 36lb injectors, 90mm throttle body, non-adjustable RR's and a Terracharger? Would a 80mm throttle body suit better?
William.
I'd maintain a stock throttle body and fit the super 6 36# injectors. Run a Super6 tune and you should see some nice gains whilst using an 87mm pulley.
A larger throttle body will require extensive tuning and you will lose airspeed through it. The stock throttle body doesn't prove to be a restriction until much higher power levels than you will see with your mods.

Hey William,
The Commetic or ACL are fine, i played with a Crow cam in my VQ and Matt used a Clive cam in his VS stato,
i went off Matts recommendations, the main thing is wider lobe seperation, Eg: 114 is good for supercharging, best thing is to call Crow or Clive and tell them your setup, they will custom grind you the best to suit,
the Throttle body i ran was a factory bored out to 70mm, it gained 10RWKW over the factory 65mm, an 80mm or 90mm will be good, as it will never be a restriction with the 1.5L Terra charger![]()

thanks for the responses guys...some things ive learnt the past couple of days talking with local engine shops is MLS type gaskets to be avoided if possible for 2 reasons, 1 is the block needs to be fully smooth for them to seal properly and holden blocks are a bit rough on the deck and 2 they wont warranty them unless they have been fully smoothed...so a Felpro that has the 'o'ring inserted in it has been recommended with boost applications and for sealing and now i can understand why...i might contact crow and see what they say about the cam...another thing ive learnt is maybe alloy is now an option after quotes ranging to $3500 for head work, cam and lifters...Micky the ABHA 5000-9EFI heads can be bolted on straight out of the box?...will they suit the Terra and 90mm throttle?...can they be used with the standard length pushrods and the non-adust YT R/R's?...do you sell direct or do i need to go to a supplier?...what deal can you do me for both the heads and throttle?
William.
