    Question ecotec terra charger

i'm wonderin who here has a terra charged eco?
    How does it go?
What kind of pwr and torque are you getting etc?
    What psi?
How much did it cost to get it running?
Does anyone have video of one running on dyno or similar?

I'm basically after some feedback on them and info on results and how hard fitting is?
Sponsers/company's feel free to chime in as i want all sides of the story please...

I love valley mount blowers and i'm wonderin how worth while this set up is...

    Thanks for your time everyone.

The cheapest way to get a blower is to do a L67 conversion, complete engine and ECU, usually between $2000.00 and $2800.00 drive away.
Power output anywhere between 200RWHP to 400RWHP, all depends on how deep your pockets are.
Yella Terra do heaps of after market bits for them too!!!!

for the cost of the kit you can have a l67 fitted so i would go that way.

That's why I recommended a call not an email.

Not having dig or anything, its just the best way. I tried sending my car tuner numerous emails and IF i got a response it was some generic crap. One phone call that lasted a couple of minutes answered a lot more than weeks worth of trying email achieved.

I would go the Terracharger kit rather than a conversion to the L67. You are losing money that way. The Terracharger kit for the Ecotec brings it out to around 240kw i think from the 155. The stock L67 only takes you to what.....173kw ? So you are in front with the terracharger kit with a better top end. Plenum, intake manifold and heads come off, and new low compression head gaskets need to be installed. Its all DIY. No touching the bottom end, etc. It will certainly be cheaper than an engine swap for a stock l67. Also get the metal intake manifold gaskets from Yt or Mace. They are both the same for the L36 and L67 motor. Then you can intercool it as well while the manifold is off.

Theres also the Rotrex which is excellent. Great build quality just as the YT. THere was someone on here or the other forum who installed the Terracharger while running a mixer lpg system as well. I will try to find him. If you check ebay you will see that L67 second hard are still over $2000+. Just my opinion.

    Aren't rotrex a centrifugal charger?

Where's the fun in having a supercharger without a whine to show off?

Yes Rotrex is, and check the clips on similar Raptor setups, they whine plenty......... more like a constant whine, where the PD like the stock l67 etc whine on acceleration.........

The L67 isn't just a blower whacked on top of an ecotec. There are numerous changes that were made.....

The YT is a great kit but when it comes down to bang for buck, there is no way you will get the same amount of power/torque that you would get from a L67 with exactly the same dollar figure spent.
The kit for the ECOTEC is about $4980.00, now that has every thing you need, except a tune, so you will need to add say $1000.00 for a proper tune, so grand total $5980.00.

    So with $5980.00 lets do a L67.
$2000.00 for used running engine (this is a little expensive)
    $500.00 for new cam shaft
    $250.00 for gap less rings
    $200.00 cometic head gaskets
    $150.00 bearing kit
    $150.00 valve springs and retainers
$1000.00 block, head and crank prep (being a bit generous here)
    $650.00 YT snout and pulley
    $1000.00 tune
    $200.00 fuel pump
    $200.00 other gaskets
    $300.00 double row timing chain

Total $6600.00 Sorry went a little over budget.

If you go the Rotrex path, the DIY kit is $3750.00 add $1000.00 for custom tune and you are at $4750.00 with an unopened engine.

I know what I would rather have if I was going to go the supercharger route.

If you do a L67 conversion then you can sell you existing engine and get a few $$$ back.

very valid point^^ to be honest that's what my research is showing too... l67=better value, altho rotrex does seem intruiging at the moment...

Not to mention the several hours of unnecesary time spent working the engine..

And I've seen plenty of Raptor Centrifugal Supercharger videos. They don't whine like a roots or twin-screw charger, they squeal - horribly..
