Default Triple Flow W2a Cooler Core

Hey Guys,

Just out of curiosity, what is the triple flow W2A intercooler radiator worth and what sort of gains are there to be had over the standard W2A intercooler radiator i have on my car at the moment?

Also, what size are they available in?

hey Tim
If like me and cuckoo you have the TT front radiator I wouldn't worry about it just yet.
I believe that the new triple flow is for the Stealth (which is shorter than the TT rad) and basically it is 40mm thick instead of 25mm and the flow changes direction 3 times whilst travelling thru the rad,it enters at the bottom travels across and up into the middle section where it then flows across then up into the top section across and then out the exit, unlike the current rads which come in at the bottom and just flow across any path in the rad to exit at the top opposite corner.
Hopefully the new intermediate cooler will bring with it the TT size but thicker triple flow radiator.

CheersCol

Is the actual setup done to flow in that direction? Wouldn't it make more sense to connect it up so the flow of coolant goes with gravity instead of against it, i would imagine it would create more flow.

Id like to hear more on this aswell as im about to get a TOT but id like the best front mount i can if there a chance the TOT is getting a bigger one

Yes you are right and I questioned this too but it had to do with how to fit it all in the confines of a standard unmodifed engine bay and front panel opening.
Its a bit backward because when you fit the pump its usually down low inside the guard and as we are not using thermostats in the system and there is no pressure the triple flow helps to keep the hot water in the radiator longer instead of just finding the quickest path to the opposite exit.
