Exclamation do i need new valve springs

hi
i am planning to get some 1.95 rockers for my ecotec. my engine has done 195,000 k's. do i need to get new valve springs? i dont want valve float so even if this is remote possiblity i want new springs for piece of mind.

Josh.
Most people these days don't bother unless they are going to have a tune and get the RPM limit increased.
Testing done by our friends in the USA concluded the standard springs with 1.9 or 1.95 rockers are OK up to 5,900 RPM.
With your milage, my advise would be to keep the standard rev limit, and the standard springs (replace them with new ones or low milage ones if you want).
If you do put heavier springs on, you might want to consider the timing chain as well.

Yep, I was going to say that. You really only need to replace the valve springs if you are building a high revving machine to stop valve bounce.

no worries.im not planning on increasing the rev limit so just getting new rockers sounds like the go.cheers for the info.
