    pretty sure they both are running the YT spec cam with mild head work,
    and tunned by scotty from chip control.
    cant remeber boost, i think around 14psi. .

    mark or one of the YT guys can prolly give you some better details.

    theres plenty of proof. have seen a dyno run myself with the whipple ute making around 300rwkw. theres quite a lot to be gained from running the intercooler. cooler air means more power and can run more spark.

    They are available ex stock now as a complete upgrade for L67 engine including intercooler $6,200.

    All kits sold so far have been fitted to purpose built engines and have made between 280 and 320 RWKW.

    Cheers.

    The stock L36 (LN3) compression ratio is a little high so that would be your first limiting factor.

    isnt an ln3 a series 1 buick?

    if so they run a fairly nice 8.5:1? (not exactly insanely high)

    Nope.

    LN3 is the engine code for the Australian Ecotec V6.
    Stamped on the ID plates of all V6 ecotec Commodores.

    The CR for the LN3 (L36 is the American code) is 9.4:1

    I thought otherwise due to reading this

    yours is essentially the L36, but it runs a different manifold and other items. the blocks are the same.

    the easiest way to show it is:

    VN s1 = LN3
    VN s2-VR = L27
    VS ecotec -VY = L36

    but in reality, the american motors are laid out differently being mostly FWD configuration.

    Ah thats a easy one.
    It is in direct relationship to the number of cold beveies removed from the fridge at one time. The more removed, the larger the sad space, the bigger the vacuum

    Well there you go

    Maybe I should remind ourselves that we are on a Australian Holden Commodore forum.

    You are correct of course. The American's do call their series 1 Buick a LN3.
    We (Australians) called ours a Series 1 Buick engine a LG2, & a later one the EV6 (I believe) I really don't know. .
    The American's called their Series II a L36.
    We Australians called our Ecotec (Series II) a LN3.

    Btw Hakhawk got it wrong with the VN S1 (& you can confirm that by looking at the plate on your VN's firewall) & the VS - VY ecotec.

    So yeah if you're talking on a American site you need to be careful when talking engine codes I suppose.

    Cheers

    my post was showing the american equivalents(using the american abbreviations) to our aus motors.

    so, with your information, this is what i was saying, without using aus abbreviations

    AUS = US
    ------------
    LG2 = LN3
    EV6 = L27
    LN3 = L36
