Default ecotec factory rocker covers & 1.9

Hi, just wondering whether the Y/T 1.9:1 set (YT6651) would clear the factory rocker covers on my VS ecotec series 1?

The Y/T website mentions the 1.7 set does, so I'm just checking that the 1.9 set will too before I fork out for them. I know it's a popular ratio here on the forum so I'm sure many of you know for sure!

Thanks!

Yes, i have 1.95's on my standard ecotec covers and they clear. Even ask YT and they will confirm this.

g'day mate, i've never heard of anyone having clearance issues with the rocker covers after changing rocker ratio. It should be sweet to go

You searched for nothing, why didnt you just email YT ??? I always email people about stuff, its there product they're trying to sell, let them tell you about it. Even so, YT usually know and would sell a spacer i believe they may have with older systems and rockers.............not sure

Sorry for delay.
Yes they clear the factory covers.
All the current Ultralight V6 rockers are the same external shape regardless of ratio and are trimmed to clear the factory covers.

Cheers.
Mark.

Go the 1.95's, you know you want to, same price just as easy to fit.

thanks for your help guys, good to know there will be no issues.

i've considered the 1.95s, but my engine's done 125k, i don't really want to replace the valve springs as well, so i thought i'd allow a little room for safety!

time to go use my 20% repco voucher...

That depends on the camshaft overlap.
Valve to piston collisions rarely happen at full lift, its more often when the exhaust valve is half shut that the piston comes up and gives it a whack.
