Hi Folks,
This is the first time I've used this Forum, so I hope someone can help me!
My son has a lovely 1998 VT V6 EFI Commodore that has just had the head fail on it. He is desperate to know if a VP V6 head will go straight on, as he has one on hand. Otherwise, where can he get a changeover head for the VT cheap? He lives just out of Wedderburn via Bendigo, in Victoria.Would appreciate any help as soon as possible as he is without a car at present! Thanks folks.

as far as i know it will not fit due to the engines being different

i thought the 3800 vp engine and the ecotec shared heads, they just have different blocks. or maybe vise versa. call yella terra tomorrow for a straight answer
they physically bolt up but its the inlet/exhaust manifolding thats different, you need new VT heads.
And the push rods not lining up due to the valves being in different spots. But no, as said, they will not fit.
hi guys i am just wanting to know will a vn/vp head fit on to a VS head.it is a strange question i know but i think i have a blown head gasket.and need to if they will fit.i also know that a vs is ecotec and a vn/vp isnt but if anyone can help me id be much appreciated
Same answer as above, no, different engines. If its just a blown head gasket than just change it. You will need new gaskets no matter what head you fit too it.
