Default L67 Press on pulleys and pulley tool

I was wondering where i can buy both the pulley and the pulley tool

Also how does the tool help in fitting the pulley?

From what i can see its a remover, unless im crazy.

Also where would i be able to buy a stage 1 water to air cooler kit?

It works as both remover and installer. theres a threaded hole in the shaft on the factory blower snout and the main bolt part of the puller tool has a stud in the end to match.
We have no stock of puller tools at the moment though. Best bet is to find someone who has got one and can fit the pulley for you. The pulleys you can get from any place that sells YT gear: Repco, Autobarn, speed shops etc.

    Cheers

    Thanks for that, ordered one.

I might just pull the snout off and press it on.

    Cheers

press it on?? you'll end up stuffing ya blower, thats why they are threaded on the inside so it can be pulled on, not pressed.
and why dont you just make a puller, cheaper.
if ya puller you get wont push it back on, get a long bolt and washer and nut and build a pusher, cost ya a couple bucks.

Once the snout is off the pulleys can be done on a bearing press.
You need to support it at the end of the shaft when pressing the new one on, not the gearcase or you'll end up pressing the bearings out like TheIceman said.

    Cheers.

    made up a fitting tool.

    One last question.

Do i need to change the belt or will the tensioner take up the slack?

the tensioner has heaps of movement each way, it wont hold the belt as tight but it will still be plenty to keep it in its correct alignment with the pulleys

6PK-1740 is the go for the 87mm press on pulley if you don't change to a larger idler pulley as well.

having so trouble with removing the pulley, tried a generic remover, bent the lip on the pulley and it didnt budge.

Was going to just pull off the snout and press it off but according to the spare parts man, you cant buy a gasket for snout to supercharger.

When do you expect to have stock on pulley removers?

The snout to charger doesn't use a gasket. It is an alloy machined face that uses silastic, something heat and oil proof. I used Threebond and never had any probs.

Mate, I noticed you live in Scumbury (Sunbury?). Have u heard of Chip Control? They are the YT reps on this side of town and helped me out the other day with a pulley swap for a mate. Can't recommend them enough.

    9740 3363, ask for Scott.

He has various pullers and I think he still has the YT press tool there too. Doesn't cost that much.

If you do remove the snout (gotta be crazy with CC round the corner), don't use too much silastic when sealing it up. It goes into the rotor cavity and stuffs the rotors up.

    Good luck
