hi everyone,
was reading up recently on an article that was saying that its good to put stronger valve springs in the gen3's as it gives a better rev and less valve bounce through the rev range, said (there very light and as little as 50-60psi on the seat) what is a good valve spring and rocker ratio to put on a stock gen3 to give it a better/smoother drive, the motors done 166,000kays, so was thinking of doing if worth it as its getting up there in kays and would there be any performance difference if any? would the fuel economy be any different? better worse bout the same? and what would they be worth for gwd valve springs and a good rocker ratio on a stock gen 3 vy ss.
will be getting 2.5" exhaust system with pacie tri-ys or 4 into 1's and otrcai in the next 12months. any help greatly appreciated.
most would say to get comp cams 918 bee hive springs, and if your not going cam down the track get some YT 6646 1.8:1 ultralite roller rockers.
yeh will get a cam and possible s/c down the track, weather its in 12months when do zorst and intake or in a couple of years. are those 1.8:1 ultralites good for a camed car or not realy
Not really.
You would be better off using the 1.7's on a cammed engine.
I have heard good things about Patriot springs from the states.
oh ok, so 1.7's are better on a cammed gen3, that include charged? can i put 1.7's on my stock motor? what are these patriot valve springs like? or does anyone have a link for them?
OK... abit of a hi-jack (sorry).
How much power gains would you expect from 1.8 RR on a stock gen3??
EDIT:
Sorry, didn't do a search... found another thread stating 10% gain...
Thanks
