Default Advice for my VR...roller rockers

G'day, hope i am posting this in the right place....my first ever thread-post. I am new to knowing anything about engines and car mods, although this forum has been extremely helpful to start learning. My question for you at yella terra is that i am wanting to purchase a set of high ratio roller rockers for my VR series 2 (3800 buick) and would like to know which ratio i should go for.....i am after the extra power and torque it could give me. Have already done cai, headers (wildcat), k&n filter, will have 2.5in cat back with hi flow cat. Also intending to go 3.73 diff with lsd at some stage soon with stage 2 shift kit and corvette servo.
Can i purchase your product from Repco here in Cairns....Thanks for your help

    Josh.
If you are not planning to change the camshaft then best bet is to use the highest ratio available which is 1.8:1.
    Part Number is YT6659

Thanks for the info.... 1.8 it is then. I had a bloke try to advise me that getting high ratio rockers on my vr v6 is not worth it cause of the minimal gain verses the outlay. Now from what i have read here it sounds to me like a very worthwhile mod if not changeing the cam. I am still intending to upgrade to rockers.... for my interest could you let me know the average rwkw gain is when rockers are put on, the engine is in pretty good knick....only 146 000km's and done the extractors, cai, 2.5 cat back exhaust, hi-flow cat, k&n filter and a greenfoam tune on the way.
Plan to supercharge in the future... are the 1.8 ok for this.
    Cheers for the help!

Hi, i have been searching posts to gain idea's on getting more power out of my buick v6..... done most of the small things and now i am going to have to spend decent amounts of money to get more power. With this in mind i am finding that you really need to know your stuff and plan things correctly.
My question this time is about cams..... if i get the 1.8 roller rockers is it still possible to fit a cam as well .... if so will it have to be a custom cam that a shop grinds to fit.

tappathead provided the answer to the question i asked in his first post ie if your not getting a camshaft then the 1.8's would be the go. My last post was directed at tappathead --- should of added quote.

1.7 is the only other option we have available.
Standard ratio is 1.6 so you would need to calculate your own valve lift by multiplying the cam lift by the rocker ratio.

Will The 1.8s fit on a manual vp v6? If so is there any way to get them cheaper than $800?

As long as you still have a standard cam they would be ideal.
You may be able to get in on the group buy at $699 if you call YT.

That's not a bad price. Are they really worth it? They add 10rwkw I heard?
