I am about to install an A/D/S 630X amp (4 channel input with 4 channels output at 30 Watt RMS and 2 channels sub-out) into my Calais VT using standard original speakers. Could anybody inform me how is the original cabling done on the rear door and the shelf speakers? are they in series or parallel? (The head unit only has a total of 4 output). I have checked that the shelf speakers (subs ?) have impedance of 2 Ohms, while the rear-door speakers give me different reading when measured using Ohm meter (1 measured 2 Ohms and the other is 4 Ohms) which one is right?. I did the measurement with the cables disconnected from the head unit.
ALso I read in other forum that some newer Commodore has hidden amp for the shelf speakers, does the VT Calais also have one ?
Any information, hint and/or suggestion will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your attention and help.
