2009 Commodore Sv6 Ute
Hello all

In my VE ute i have ultra lows but im still not happy. I want it lower. Would it be worth buying new custom made springs OR keeping the ultra lows and putting shortened shocks in it? How much lower would the shortened shocks make the ute?

Cheers guys

p.s here is the link for the shortened shocks. Monroe - GT Sport

Are you even at legal height now? Unless you want to be defected i would not go any lower. Also are the springs new? wait until they settle in, they'll be much lower.

The springs are about... 6300kms old. Im not sure what legal height is here in QLD and i havent measured my car but it just doesnt look low lol.

Hmmm, 6300km should be enough to let them settle in. From memory in NSW it's 10cm from the lowest point on the car. Don't know what QLD is like with this, but for common sense that is the lowest you'd want to go.

Shortened shocks will not make your ute any lower - you'll need lower springs.

Having said that, you'll probably need shortened shocks if you're going any lower anyway - just to suit the lower springs.

You can get them compressed.

Not if done correctly. But then again, after so many k's and time, springs sag anyway.

got any piks of the ute mate just so we can see how low it is 100mm ground clearence from the lowest point of the car weather it be exhaust or sump (havent looked into VE's that much not a huge fan) i have mine set 100mm from my exhaust y piece i wouldnt want it any lower as driveways are hard to tackle as it is let alone dodgy council patch jobs
