Sun roof in a ute

Can you put a sunroof in a vs ute? I know you can get kits for sunroofs and my step brother is putting 1 in his, I wanted to do it as well but thought I should ask if it's a good idea first?

It can be done, but instead of the sunroof sliding inside the roof like on a sedan/wagon, the sunroof slides over the roof towards the back.

Go to google and search: Hollandia 300.

yes can be done.

but it can be a massive pain if things go wrong.
ie having water sit and cause rusting problems.

for the cost of it, and the cost of a vs ute in general, i probably wouldnt do it.
i got a quote of about $1500 for it to be done. tempting but in the end its not a showcar. would be nice, but to me thats $1500 to put into an 8 when it comes around.
however if your going to build it up into a real deal car, then go for it, would look different
and if you do end up doing it. post up a picture. would be good to see what they look like completed.

Yeah you learn something new everyday haha.

It would look the same on a VS, the only difference would be a VS body instead of VE. If I find a photo ill upload it.

I had a aftermarket sunroof on my VR sedan and it was put in not long after it was purchased new and I never had any problems with it or anything to do with rust or water leaking in etc. If you get it done probably worth getting it done by some one reputable

I know a lot of blokes on this forum have had theirs done at prestige sunroofs in camberwell (I am pretty sure that's the name)
A few guys who I go to trade school with had them installed in their VY/VZ utes from the same joint, looks awesome!
I would love one in the ute, but as drawnnite said it's hard to justify the amount for an older car...

mmm probs isnt worth the money, as it is i have a body kit, hard lid, 3 subs and 6 tweeters waiting to go in cai, roller rockers and a shift kit, i just did my custom roof liner today and that would wreck it :/

if you really want it, then dont let us hold you back =P
in the end its your car, and a vs ute would look pretty cool with one.

and yes prestige sunroofs does do them, thats where i got the quote from
