Installed a HID kit, as well as some aftermarket fog lights into my VX S II
It had all the connectors for the foggies, installed them and they worked perfect, installed the hid kit, that also worked perfect, about 2/3 hours after installation my fog light switch now controls my high beam, and i cannot turn on my foggies at all :(
would this be a problem with the HID kit?
any ideas would be perfect. i want my foggies!

If it only did it 2 to 3 hours after installation and it all worked fine before that, I would be
looking at a burnt/shorted wire some where.
Some times, if there is a bad join, exposed wires or a wire is shorting and getting hot, the insulation can melt to the other wires in the loom
causing all sorts of problems, including what you are experiencing.

You shouldn't need to take off the bumper to access the fog lights or the wiring

You have to be very careful wiring the HID's.
I had some on my car once and one connection was bad. Hence the left light was not working.
Because of the high voltage coming out of the ballast, the connection was arcing and
it burnt about 5mm of insulation off another wire that was close to the HID connection.

Before you go taking things off, grab a torch and have a good look and feel around all your connections and
the back of the head and fog lights.
Get your nose in there and have a good sniff for any smells of burnt wiring.
Feel for any wiring that has melted or crumbled.

Ive taken out the hid kit and put my standard globes back in. It keeps blowing fuse 31 (lh side headlight) would that be my problem with the foggies?
Im taking the car to mu auto elec and he can wire up the hid kit properly and mount the ballasts
Unless I can find where the problem is

I put a kit in my motorbike but because I had to extend the wiring, bei g a tight arse I did it myself instead of buyi g the proper extension, anyway it kept arcing out at the connection terminals, obviously I hadn't insulated it properly. Lesson learned.
