Vx supercharged ping

Hey I was driving my car last night and went onto the high way and gave it a boot and it pinged for a second then was fine what would cause this? Only thing I have changed is put a 10psi pulley and oil change I always use 98 premium fuel but its not always bp 98 it was only for a second and hasn't done it again could it of got a bad batch of fuel or something? Would a mace memcal fix this? Is it possible it needs a tune? Any help would be great regards Aaron

When was the fuel filter last changed? Sounds like it is running a bit lean.

i changed the fuel filter 10,000ks ago

I'll agree, get the afr checked... The tune is prob slightly out with the new pulley

When it pinged, did the timing retard? Did you feel a loss of power for a split second?

not that i noticed was going bout 80-100ks

Usually before you even hear a ping the knock sensors will retard the timing. Sure it was a ping?

my mate said it was, also i went to a servo that i never gone to before and put $20 in and thats when it started to play up so i thinking maybe it was that as i have now gone back to the usual servo i goto and i have tryed to make it ping again and it hasnt

Yeah doubt it was a ping if the timing didnt retard. You'll definately feel the timing retard come in.
