I resisted FB for years until that recent search arising from another thread I started. Not only was I able to find people I was specifically looking for, I located a couple of mates I hadn't seen since the 80's and re-established contact with them.

For that sort of thing, FB works well. I know it's filled with tripe by boofheads who think the world wants to know they crapped a purple turd a metre long, or their boyfriend is an a***hole, but with a bit of commonsense (and maturity) it has some merit.

Love the Bookface....it is a lot of things most of which I like.

Once you figure out how to control it....er wait on a bit.

As an aside Facebook is probably watching you. Some time back I started searching for replacement brake components, discs and pads.
What starts to show up as advertisements the next day? yep, brake part retailers and service centres.

.............but that's not just FB tracking. Same thing happens all over. If it really bothers you there's ways of pretending you're ........mmmm...........a Rich Nigerian or Russian Bride for example.

The internet is evolving into a marketing tool. Just about everything you do turns into ads for similar products in emails and Bookface and a variety of other sites and forums. That's why most interactive sites ask you to sign up. Bookface is probably the most widely used advertising platform on the internet.
