Something to think about for tech heads and immortality is the air density/flow relationship as read by the maf linear under rising pressure and how much does air temp affect the accuracy of the maf?if air drawn through at ambient temp reaches max flow read by a cooling resistor will it be the same as pressurised above ambient temp or is there an amount of deficiency at above atmospheric pressures with this design either way I'm pretty sure I can't go much further without a map sensor and writeable eprom but I will try to go as fast as a factory delco will let me next I'll try some 65 lb injectors but I doubt I will be able to get it to idle due to my crude manual idle mixture valve and duty cycle limit but that's what this thing is about doing what's not meant to be done and making it work and when it's to a point that I am happy and not going to change it for a while it will get a cat and mod plate and go to willow bank and nsw for some fun

track car/powercruise -t56
street cruiser...occasional drags & street skids -built 4l60

drags/skids/burnouts...basically streetcar that gets beaten on like redheaded stepchild -glide/th350 or th400

mal woods/dellows for manual gear
crs/dellows/torquepower etc for auto conversion gear

I don't mind the 4l60e for street cars if it's modded correctly although do admit I've broken a few of them with mild 304's just mucking around on the street.

I would try a 6l80e or 4l80e if possible they're a much stronger boxes but 4l60e's can be done to hold decent powas. I have a T56 in my VS ute and the adapter plate and clutch setup are not my favorite thing so I'm looking at a new bellhousing and clutch kit from CRS which is $2500+ this is on a 304 though.

Anyway here is a video highlighting why 4l60e's get such a bad rap hint it's because 99% of people don't know how to build an upgraded transmission.

Thanks gtr I'm not big on burn outs but it does cop a flogging and the burnouts are not deliberate, sorry for anyone that keeps getting disturbed at night by some hoon with a screamer ,I'll keep looking for the easiest and cheapest alternative I'd like to find a built box cheap from a write off or unfinished project but so far the cheapest and only cheap built box would be the the glide as it is built for a 600 hp blown small block and has a 4 k converter just got to make it fit, here's my biggest issue with my 4sp in the states plenty of these take huge power many 8 sec 4l60s and the components to put one together are less than a grand so wtf is with auto shops telling me I need to put $3000 plus into mine to handle a pissy l36 if Monday runs up no results I'm setting up an auto building clean room!

Sorry to be blunt but $1000 4l60's doing 8 second passes is total BS unless maybe 1/8th mile.

I have a lil experience with hydraulics as I was the head mechanic for an engineering company and I've done hundreds of auto repairs and plenty of conversions I work on every thing from 1000 hp skylines to n/a dirt trackers, I even custom build 300kmh rc cars I'm a friction control specialist so from what I can see auto boxes are pretty simple the biggest thing is clean clean clean and it's dirty and dusty out ere so I need a clean room thanks all for your input I'll just build my own

I'm reliably informed the temp sensor in the airbox isn't used by the MAF. It does effect other settings in the tune with a big one been it starts to pull timing after temps get above 20°C

You can't run a MAP sensor on a standard Holden PCM, the only option is Kalmaker who have their own software and MAP sensor conversion for the factory PCM. The alternate option is a LS style MAF and undated factory code from the PCM Hacking forum which doubles the factory limitations.

I doubt either of those transmissions will fit in the VS tunnel as they are both considerably bigger than the 4L60e.

Do some searching Shane billet 5 pinion drum and Torrington$400 hd clutches servo pistons and wider bands $300 and $300 for a converter but here the cheapest converter in oz is$1000 to do what I want and even off eBay it's $600 plus just for a hd rebuild kit alone and I got to ask u Shane how many 4l60e's did u build in America

Thanks immortality I had read something on that a while back that's where the idea came from the, Delphi system is a nice one and heard of it being used as a tuneable is that a possibility to rewrite the later pcm to suit ? I don't think it would take much to fit up a late model pcm just wires ,my air temp sensor has been threaded to 1/4npt and I have several positions for it,cold ambient external or pre intercooler hot charge and where it runs now is after intercooler before the maf medium temp next question who in qld does delco/ Delphi tuning and yes I know the best option everyone keeps telling me just put a haltec in but I've had pretty good results so far no lap top in sight just occasional check on diagnostic tool

An 8 second pass down the 1/4 milr requires over 1200hp it's just not happening. If you wish to stay in dream land then go buy your $1000 4l60e and you've got your trans problem solved.
