I'm trying to nail down why I have this gap on my strut tops. I think it's because I accidentally ordered the FE2 struts: KYB 834003 & 843004. (For a VE omega wagon)

The main question I have is if I get fe2 springs will this fix the issue?

I had a strut top on the shelf in the shed. It measured the same height as the shagged ones coming out.. thought it was new ish as I'd swapped a previous car to superpro ones.

Any easy way to tell? I used the bump stops that came with the kyb shocks, they don't squeeze in the top hat tightly as the OE ones.. but the old ones were well shagged.

I'm certain now that all the bits are in and in the right orientation.

What but did you use under the top plate? The shining one in the pic. That should be a very thin nut.

Thanks all, I'll give that a go in the morning. Weird question, would the weight of the vehicle allow the top nuts to be removed and re installed without the use of spring compressors?

i always undo them first with the weight of vehicle on them to help stop the top from turning, once loose just finger tight and do the job, same in reverse leave loose and put vehicle weight on them so they find there spot then do up firm
