Hi,i have just fitted VR/VS rear trailing arms into my VQ so i can fit later model wheels and not have clearance problems. If you wish to do this and you have any questions, ask away.
With the standard VQ/VP irs off set most late model holden rims will rub on the inner guards. With this conversion you get about an extra 15mm each side outwards.I has VT ss rims and they sat on the inner guards .I tried SV6 rims and there was less than a finger between the arm and tyre and about the same on the inner guard.I now have a heap of room and no need for spacers.
Is my HSV "level ride" IRS different to a standard VP with IRS? The reason I ask is that the previous owner had 255 tyres under the arse & it didnt scrub(or maybe its just the offset of the rims).
