- BA xr6 turbo Heinrich tuned to 300 rwkw's
After replacing a broken left exhaust manifold stud and cleaning the throttle body I found that there was a hissing sound (like a pod filter but a bit quieter) under light to medium throttle, but it goes away under heavy or fully open throttle.
It has to be something I did :whistling because the sound was not there before I completed the work.
All I did was remove the throttle body intake tube and disconnect the sensor (EGR outlet pipe) on the left exhaust manifold in order to allow enough movement of the manifold to access the broken stud. Everything went well and went back together with no dramas, I find no evidence of a vacuum line being accidently bumped and disconnected nor can I find any split vacuum lines so I am buggered if I know what it is.
The performance is about the same as is the fuel consumption, I am happy to have got rid of the annoying ticking sound caused by the broken manifold stud but I'd love to know what this hissing\sucking sound is under light throttle:bang: Any ideas would be appreciated
