the guy i bought my vn ss off of said he had the gear box re built with the corvette servo through it

Some more info:

The 'servo' in 4L60(E) (the auto trans used in VN-VE) speak is a hydraulically actuated piston that is used to stop the clutch housing rotating inside the trans. case in gears 2 and 4. It does that by pushing on a pin that wraps a brake band attached to the gear case tighter around the clutch housing, locking the clutch housing to the gear case.

A 'Corvette' servo is one that is used in some of the US versions of the 4L60E used in Chevrolet Corvette models and is, in essence, a bigger piston = greater apply force. The effect is to apply the band tighter, allowing greater torque to be transmitted before slip of the clutch housing inside the band under power, and, unfortunately sometimes, a faster rate of apply. Unfortunately because in planetary geartrains, like those that are used in auto trans., the element from the previous gear not required in the next gear has to disengage before the new element is selected. Just applying one element faster without also disengaging faster may cause two gears to be selected at once, even if only for a very short time. The result is components slipping. If other changes (in addition to the servo) are made at the same time, it can be OK.

Hey top bit of info there.

What would be the best way to avoid slip in an auto in high performance? I would assume a corvette servo would be the first step, but how would you then avoid the threat of two gears being slected at once? would that be the joys of a shift kit?

i have got vt auto with a transgo stage 2 shift kit would it make it go harder is i got a corvette servo put in and wat price r they
