  • This ought to get old Brett going, that guy has given his post a slaming. Going to watch this one closely :)
I like how breaks or cracks cause the resistance to change, I've got an electrical trade and engineering diploma and a break in a lead = open circuit not a variable resistance. He sure must go through a lot of service parts over servicing? These engines have 2 spark plugs in series and one will fire even if the other plug and or lead is stuffed due to a capacitive effect so I doubt any slight increase in resistance within the service range is going to do anything to the spark or engine performance in real terms, maybe he's like a lot of others, who shove 98 octane in an engine not designed for it and think it makes tonnes more power.
Mate, it sounds like we are in the same boat, but I will be able to get ADSL at the new location. It just won't be a high priority as the house needs heaps of work and this mobile setup gets a good signal - it's just a bity exxy compared to a land line. Anyway, good to hear from you and keep in touch. Regards. Paul
    Hi Ross

Yeah, haven't been putting much up because we have sold our house and I terminated my ADSL contract. Only have a pre-paid plan running at present pending the move, so download is very limited. We move in mid January and I will sort out a permanent plan asap after that. Then the ol' Calaber will be back on the air like old times. Regards Paul
    Hi Ross

Really glad to have you aboard mate. Yeah, I make out like I'm a cranky old **** (probably am some times - particularly with the young smarties who think they know everything) but I've also noticed your opinions are very much like mine.

    Regards

    Paul (Calaber)
